Important training exercise, involving the 12th “Szczecinska” Mechanized Division, also known as Ryś-15 (Lynx-15) is currently taking place in Drawsko Pomorskie. The operations involve, inter alia, the 7th Coastal Defence Brigade from Slupsk, 5th Artillery Regiment from Sulechów and the 5th “Szczecin-Podjuchy” Engineering Regiment. In total more than 3300 soldiers, including 1600 troops of the 7th Brigade, participate in the exercise. Besides the commanding staff, staff and “Blue Berets”, the event also involves the reserve forces
 
According to the information released by cpt. Karolina Krzewina-Hyc, not only does the exercise involve the mechanized units, as significant role is also being played by artillery, anti-aircraft elements, sappers, air force and reconnaissance units (e.g. soldiers of the 18th Reconnaissance Regiment from Białystok). Communication elements, logistics specialists and medics are also participating in the activities Command Staff is also reinforced, as CIMIC (Civil-Military Co-operation) specialists, staff from the Center of Preparation for Foreign Deployments and specialists from the Central PsyOps Group based in Bydgoszcz are additionally providing their contribution to the operation. The exercise is being led by Brigade General Rajmund T. Andrzejczak. He is supported by Brigade General Andrzej Reudowicz from the 12th “Szczecinska” Mechanized Division.

The elements are involved in combat activities conducted with the use of the training infrastructure provided by the Land Forces Training Center in Drawsko Pomorskie. The schedule of the operations is intensive. Initially, once the Command Post of the 7th Coastal Defence brigade was detected by the enemy, the forces were moved, and the work on the stations was interrupted by airborne threat alerts. On 2nd December the elements of the 7th Brigade started a counter attack against the weakened and immobilized enemy.
