Brazil is Extending Search for New IFV. An Opportunity for Polish Borsuk?
The Brazilian Armed Forces are looking for new armoured combat vehicles. As we recently reported, our new BWP Borsuk is to be among the designs under consideration.
Brazil plans to purchase 78 Viatura Blindada de Combate de Fuzileiros (VBC Fuz), or new infantry fighting vehicles, and 65 Viatura Blindada de Combate Carro de Combate (VBC CC), or new tanks or vehicles with armament comparable to the basic tank, to partially replace the current Leopard 1A5BR and M60A3TTS basic tanks.
In terms of an infantry fighting vehicle, designs such as the CV90, ASCOD 2, Hunter and VN17 are under consideration. The Badger a against their background stands out for its ability to overcome water obstacles by swimming, which could make a big difference given Brazil’s geography.
