The Defence Minister also stated that a contract for a New Type Orka Submarine will be signed next year. In 2025, a contract should also be signed for the upgrade of the ORP Ślązak corvette, which will provide it with much greater operational capabilities thanks to new weapons integration.

The declaration on the implementation of the Ratownik programme and the provision of a timetable for the signing of the Orka contract should be seen as a signal from the Ministry of Defence that the modernisation of the Polish Navy submarine fleet will be implemented. After all, one of the primary tasks of the Ratownik is to secure the execution of submarine operations, although of course it also will perform other missions.
