14 General Officer Appointments on Flag Day [EXCLUSIVE]

According to Defence24.pl’s unofficial information, President Andrzej Duda will appoint 14 officers to general officer ranks on Flag Day of the Republic of Poland, May 2. After the publication of Defence24.pl original story, the National Security Bureau has confirmed that those officers will be promoted.

Officers to receive the rank of Lieutenant General will include:

• Lt. Gen. (Div. Gen.) Karol Dymanowski, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces
• Lt. Gen. (Div. Gen.) Piotr Malinowski, Deputy Commander of NATO’s Joint Support Command JSEC
• Lt. Gen. (Div. Gen.) Sławomir Owczarek, First Deputy Commander of the General Command of the Armed Forces

Officers to receive the rank of Major General will include:

• Brig. Gen. Krzysztof Kociuba, Chief of Staff of NATO’s Communications and Information Agency, and Brig. Gen. Dariusz Mendrala, Head of the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate

Officers to be appointed to the rank of Brigadier General will be:

• Col. Roman Brudło, Commander of the 9th Braniewo Armored Cavalry Brigade,
• Col. Waldemar Gołębiowski, Commander of the 4th Training Aviation Wing,
• Col. Robert Matysek, Commander of the 1st “Mazurska” Artillery Brigade,
• Col. Marcin Zawodniak, Commander of the 19th “Lubelska” Mechanized Brigade,
• Col. Mirosław Spurek, Commander of the 15th Giżycko Mechanized Brigade,
• Col. Łukasz Andrzejewski-Popow, Legal Advisor to the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces,
• Col. Piotr Chodowiec, Head of the Operations and Command Department (P6) of the General Staff,
• Col. Andrzej Oleksa, Deputy Chief of Staff for Support in the Operational Command of the Armed Forces,
• Col. Krzysztof Stobiecki, Ministerial Advisor for Aviation in the Ministry of National Defence.

It is possible that the appointments scheduled for May 2 will not be the last ones conferred by President Andrzej Duda. If agreed upon by the Ministry of National Defence, President Duda, and the president to be elected in the upcoming elections, Andrzej Duda will also award the final promotions at the end of his term on Polish Armed Forces Day.
