President of the WB Group Becomes a Member of the ITE’s Scientific Council

Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has appointed the President of the WB Group, Piotr Wojciechowski, to become a member of the Scientific Council at the Instytut Technologii Elektronowej [Institute of Electron Technology].

The Institute’s mission is to carry out basic and applied research in the domain of electronics and solid-state physics, and to develop, implement and disseminate the modern micro and nano technologies and their applications in the domain of photonics and micro and nano-electronics.

The Institute has been founded in Warsaw back in 1966 by the Council of Ministers, as a body of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Back in the year 1970, the Institute was transformed into an industrial research body, subordinated to the Ministry of Industry. At the same time it became a part of the newly founded Research and Production CEMI Centre for Microelectronics. Moreover, ITE has additionally been tasked with development of new instruments and semi-conductor technologies, implementation of series production and supervision of the aforesaid production.

Since 1991, ITE has been acting as an independent research institute, subordinated to the Ministry of Development. The primary goal of the activities undertaken by ITE is to carry out world-class research and develop the advanced semi-conductor-based technologies utilized within modern products.
